Enna

Enna is the highest provincial capital of Italy, being approximately 1089 meters, located on a hill of Erei Mounts,  is unique among the Sicilian provinces not to be wet from the sea and has about 173 thousand inhabitants. The city boasts artistic, architectural and natural landscapes that these could become one of the focal points of tourism in Sicily.
We suggest to visit the Lombardia Castle, which remain today only 6 of the 20 towers perimeter,  is the largest example as is the octagonal Tower of Frederick II, who is admired today in the public park.
The Cathedral of Enna Baroque presents a façade in yellow tuff preceded by a staircase and it is very suggestive for the columns of black basalt with large ogival arches. Do not miss a visit to the Regional Archaeological Museum which is housed in the Palazzo Varis, where are the archaeological finds from excavations in the area.
